Yunjae is a partner at BSLSC LLP. Yunjae has been practicing in the areas of family law and child protection since 2013. Yunjae is a skilled negotiator and a litigator who takes a strategic approach to resolving difficult cases. Yunjae’s practice involves a broad range of family law matters with complex financial and parenting issues including complex business valuation and income assessment issues, pensions, tax issues, cross-border and interjurisdictional matters, high-conflict parenting cases, and others.

Yunjae is a resolution-oriented lawyer and regularly represents clients in alternative dispute resolution process, including negotiation, mediation and arbitration to help them resolve difficult cases in the most cost-effective manner. Yunjae is also collaboratively trained and practices collaborative family law. Yunjae recognizes that sometimes, litigation may be necessary, and in such cases, Yunjae will vigorously advocate for his clients in court to achieve favourable results. Yunjae regularly appears before the Superior Court of Justice and the Ontario Court of Justice. Yunjae is compassionate and is dedicated to achieving excellent results for his clients. Yunjae’s clients appreciate his practical and sound advice, creative solutions to resolve difficult issues, and attention to detail.

Yunjae obtained his Juris Doctor degree from the University of Toronto Faculty of Law. At law school, Yunjae volunteered as a student case worker for Pro Bono Students Canada where he assisted clients at administrative tribunal hearings. Yunjae’s previous legal experience includes articling at an in-house legal department of an energy company and a secondment to a large full-service Bay Street firm. During his spare time, Yunjae enjoys playing tennis and loves to go camping and hiking. Yunjae is active in the community and regularly volunteers for the Korean Canadian Women’s Association. Yunjae has also served as an executive director at the Korean Canadian Lawyers Association. Yunjae is fluent in Korean.
